At 3:00 pm today, our RE exam finished (it was a mock). School finishes at 3:20 but we had to go back to lessons, which I did.
Then, at 3:10, the fire alarm rang. The main gate was open. We went onto the emergency gather point, stood there and no staff came out. EVERYONE was leaving through the gate.
So, me and 2 friends went to the gate where a member of satff was closing it. I looked round to see what was happening, looked back, and it was open!! So we went out.
Then, everyone rushed and we got pushed and shoved out of the way. So I kind of got out of school a bit early, in the confusion, and I am being honest.

What do you think will happen tomorrow?
About 200 people my guess-timate is, left at that time.

My guess is that there will be a general ticking off, and then steps will be taken to ensure it doesn't happen next time! It does remind me though of the glorious occasion years ago when the school at which I was teaching held a 'sponsored walk' around the town during lesson time - 600 eager pupils set off with their teachers, and by the time we got back to school we had about 6 of them left! We never did it again.

I doubt you'll be in trouble. In any event, isn't there supposed to be a roll call once everyone has assembled after a fire alarm goes off? Otherwise, how would the staff know that everyone had vacated the school. Maybe you should mention this if anyone tries it on. Frankly, your teachers have been very lax.

You should all get a rollicking at Assembly tomorrow if there had bean a fire how were your teachers supposed to know if everyone had escaped and no one was still inside as they have to do. If it had bean a real fire they would have had to put themselves in danger to make sure everyone was out of the building.

I think fire alarms are a great excuse to get out of lessons, and you definately deserved it after the stress of an exam.
You personally can't really get in trouble if so many others did the same.
I say well done!

believe it or not something similar happened to me when i was at school. about 300 of us were put on detention for 2 weeks, copying out 'oh dear silly me i left school without permission' after 2 days the teachers agreed it was silly so they let us off. but it was funny, all of us in the school hall and gym trying to find a bit of floor or wall to rest on as they wouldn't put tables out.

If 200 people left then here isn't much that they can do about it. They probably don't know who did and didn't leave! But if they do say anything about it just say that someone said that you were able to go home..and that they must have been lyin but you believed them (obviously dnt mention ne names) lol. I think ur fine tho...u shud get away with it no probs! :-)

Teehee.... a run for freedom! Love it. Don't worry, the teachers won't care. They'll be glad that they didn't have to teach for those final 10 minutes... trust me, I went out with a teacher, they hate school as much as you do!! ;-) xx
