My personal favorite is Lakesha........most people think Melinda Dolittle will win because of her voice;HOWEVER, let me remind you that Jennifer Hudson did not win and what an amazing voice she had (Oscar worthy)......so does anyone else think a wild card may walk away with it? Melinda doolittle is by far the best on the show.....however .....she has the same voice as all the black performers. All the black girls are outstanding on the shows but they all sound the same.....lets go for something else thing time. Remember MANDISA....incredible singer.....but that same voice. I hope blake wins the whole thing or chris richardson

More and more I'm beginning to not like Melinda... can't really figure out why though. I agree she has a fantastic voice. But this whole "I never knew I was THAT good" act she's putting on is starting to annoy me. And I think they hinted at that last night when they asked if that's the real her. At first I think it was genuine shock. Now I think she's keeping it up to keep that innocence/humble appearence. I'm starting to not buy it anymore.
Lakisha is really good... and I love her voice. And I think she should be there for awhile. But in the end she should make a gospel-like CD because that's where her comfort zone appears to be. And while gospel is great... it's not really top 40 material.
Jordin is fantastic... she's my vote for winner! She's young, but has great control of her voice and range, plus she's got a great spunky/young attitude. And just enough humbleness to be believeable.
Blake is pretty cool. I think he brings a new vibe to the Idol scene. He definately has musical talent that will take him far.
Chris S is great too. And I learned this morning from another question that he already has a hometown band and CD out. So... while he's a great musician and good singer... if he doesn't make it all the way he'll definately still go big with his hometown band.
That's my pick for top 5: Melinda, Lakisha, Jordin, Blake and Chris S.
I so badly want Sanjaya to go home. If nothing else, to save his dignity. I think last night was a desperate plea to let him leave. He said in his clip "I know I'm not the best singer" He knows he's the outcast amoung a group of wonderful musicians and is only there for the sympathy (votefortheworst) and teeny bopper ("crying girl") vote. I know he won't be going home tonight... but hopefully it'll be soon!

Melinda without a doubt has a beautiful, beautiful voice. But she needs to sign some more contemporary songs and stop doing that "who me?" thing everytime she gets a compliment. We all know american idol is about more than just who is the most talented singer. I see her going far, but as for the big prize? Im not so sure.

As far as winning, it could be anyone's guess. As far as voices, I favor Melinda and Blake. But remember, many (such as Jennifer Hudson) do go on to bigger and better things and many get their own record deals.

Melinda and the other blacks DO NOT sound a like. Melinda sounds like a professional. She may win....stay tuned! Simon likes her and so does America!

Melinda will win for sure! I don't think it is an "act". I think she is genuine. I love her cute little twinkling eyes! Seems like a sweetheart! .....with a fantastic voice!

My favorite is Melinda. Dunno whether she will win, but I can see her going far in the music industry. She'll probably get a good recording contract, though.
