Ok... so i've always had problems with orgasm... would this have anything to do with not being able to get pregnant?

Its been several years trying this and it occured to me last night that not having an orgasm would hurt my chances of getting pregnant.

Please Help!

Recent studies show that when a woman orgasms the cervix actually dips down into the semen that has been deposited in the vagina. So it is a mechanism that helps with getting pregnant.

But it's not like that is the ONLY way to get pregnant. It is just a way that the body tries to help it along. There are many other things you can try - different positions, different times of the day and night, etc. Don't worry - I'm sure you will have no problems having a baby.

Good Luck!!

It helps to have an orgasm at the time of ejaculation cuz it goes right to the place it suppose to a lot faster.Try 1 wk after your period and start taking your temperature. When u notice your temperature is up u r most likely ovulating which is the time u could get pregnant the most.U might want to get checked by the doctor to make sure u both r able to conceive.Especially if u have been trying as long as u have said. They also have needles that can help u ovulate a lot of eggs to increase the chances of pregnancy.Good luck n hope that helps bye 4 now.

Having or not having an orgasm does not have any affect on your chances of getting pregnant. However, maybe there is some reason to believe that the same reason for not having an orgasm could be related to the problems with getting pregnant. Try to relax - I am sure you've heard this before. But I think it's important to not put so much pressure on yourself. Both as a benefit to reaching and orgasm and to your fertility! Good Luck to you!!!!

Not having an orgasm does not keep you from getting pregnant, but studies show that the preparations your body makes before orgasming (ie, lubrication, heat, etc) and the cramping/spasming of your uterus and vagina during and after an orgasm do seem to increase your chances. Theories suggest that it helps move the sperm toward the egg faster.

But I don't think the lack of orgasm will KEEP you from getting pregnant, especially not for years. You and your partner should consider consulting a doctor.

Good luck!

I have heard that having an orgasm will heat up your body and attract the sperm to it. My doctor also told me that foreplay is very important so you get more cervical mucus in there. Orgasms can add to that. Plus it doesn't make babymaking such a chore. I know this might sound gross but try to stimulate your clitoris during sex and after by hand, his hand or toys. You have a better bet of getting an orgasm that way. I know that this time I had an orgasm before and after him so who knows. Best of luck though :)

I once saw a video of the cervix dipping down into a pool of semen during a female orgasm. Quite unsexy to witness actually but the point was that it helps the little buggers reach their goal. That said I'd be willing to bet the vast majority of pregnancies result from copulation with no female orgasm. Female orgasm during intercourse is not nearly as common as the movies lead one to believe.

The pleasure a woman has during sex has little to do with her chances of getting pregnant. When a woman is sexually excited, certain changes in the body happen. For instance, when sexual arousal is over a woman's cervix dips down into the pool of semen that has been ejaculated into the vagina. This happens whether or not a woman has had an orgasm.

Not sure, as I've never had a wife, or tried to impregnate someone, but if I understand right, an orgasm causes muscular contractions of the cervix, which allows semen into the uterus.

Well, his, obviously.

Your not having one won't prevent you from conceiving--if that were true, the world would be a much lonelier place. However, having one is said to slightly increase the likelihood of conceiving: something about the uterine contractions physically impelling the sperm to the ovum.

In any event, it's the least likely factor. There are other much more likely causes for your, or your man's, seeming infertility. If you haven't seen a fertility specialist, and can afford it, see one.

i heard that if you have an orgasm right after your man ejaculates, then it will help the sperm 'up'. this way they have a better chance at reaching the egg. But I do not think it will hurt your chances if you don't.
Good Luck
