I'm going to on vacation. Should I make dinner reservations at the restaurants I want to before we fly out?

We use to make reservations if we were going to someplace really special to eat.
Would you say we share a lot of the same tastes? lol!

My parents lived in Hawaii for 30 years, I owned property there at one time and I have traveled there extensively. Hawaii tends to be more casual than the mainland in eating habits and time of day when people eat. Maui has some fine restaurants, especially in the up-country. Call ahead to the places you select to determine their reservation policy. Try to eat at times when the restaurant is less crowded.

Not generally, at least not any more than it would be someplace else. As in weekend nights it might be a good idea. If you're going to a Luau or something you might want to reserve, too.

You might. We do that when we go to Disney. You have to call WEEKS in advance. I dont about Maui but its pretty popular.

Maybe a couple but if you can't make it be sure to save the phone numbers in your cel so you can call and cancel when you are there...

sure. to ensure u get in it would always help. but doesnt provide u much flexibility if something comes up or u find somewhere else to eat
