I have recently gotten into sand dune riding. I want to get a dirt bike that would have good power in the sand. I know I am going to put a paddle tire on the back regardless of what it is. I just want to get some opinions on some good bikes that have a lot of power in the sand. I like the powerband of 2 strokes, but I like 4 stroke dependability and low maintenance as well. Any suggestions??? I am 6'1" 235.

I'd go with a Honda CRF 250 or 450, or a Suzuki DR400. Both are reliable, handle great and have lots of torque.

you would be extra perfect off with a 4 stroke in case you have no longer any thought approximately using and fantastically pondering the form of using you prefer to do. 2 strokes ought to be rode in the skill and that's certainly difficult to try this for the period of dunes. people who say that dunes are extremely undesirable on your motorbike are right and any solutions declaring otherwise do no longer understand what they're on approximately. The sand gets in places it is going to no longer and it acts like sand paper so which you relatively ought to shop on your upkeep in all factors while you're doing this form of using. I extremely have understand race meets the place the song is amazingly sandy and the riders ought to substitute brake pads mid way throughout the day because of the fact the sand is so harsh and the riders who did no longer have the certainty beforehand of racing that this might take place ended up with issues. you ought to commence out with a hassle-free motorbike like the ttr250 that's a path motorbike no longer for racing or in case you wanted extra skill the crf250x is a severe high quality motorbike. given which you're finding at older motorcycles then even an xr250 ought to in advantageous condition and as quickly as you get the carry of using them you ought to look for extra skill.
