Tell the the TRUTH. It's not your fault it's HIS fault he FORCED you to steal junk. Was it your choice? NO! Could you say no to him? No, because he forced you.
Good luck, you might be in jail for a night depending on your age or more if you are older and they treat you *** a real criminal.
but 13 dollars worth of junk doesn't sound much so I guess maybe a night or a bit of service.
Once some friends decided to go steal some PC's and they said if I went a long to watch they'd share profit, I got caught and the PC's were handed in, I spent a night in jail, scariest thing in my life with all these huge guys with tattoos and freaky faces and muscly too! Oh well they never found out we stilll had the 1000!, it was a terrible experience tho!

First of all - can your excuses junior. No one forces you to steal, being scared is no reason to lie, or assault (yes pushing someone is against the law to).
Stop with the woe is me and face the music - you are now a juvenile offender. How does that feel?
Be honest, admit your mistakes, and follow through with your court ordered punishment. If you have truly never been in trouble before, are not a school discipline problem, or a problem for your parents then you will likely get community service and the warning that if you are seen back in the court system you will go to Juvy.
Above everything that the court will do to you there is one more thing - your parents, grandparents, family.....not only have you embarassed and disappointed them but you will now have to rebuild their trust in you.
All because a friend said "hey steal some junk" --- so was it worth it?

First time shoplifting or first time caught? Did the person that force you have a gun to your head? It sounds like you are heading down the wrong path. Are you sure that you want to go in that direction? I recommend the book Freakonomics. It is a study done of the profits of crime. Basically you would have a better chance to be a superstar than to make real money in crime. Spend your time studying. Read Rich Dad, Poor Dad or listen to the CD. Life is too short to spend your time in jail. Meal ticket yes, freedom no. I would prefer to spend my time studying and applying what I have learned so that I can buy the store (or even a chain of them) not steal from it.

Excuses generally don't go over well in a court of law. You are guilty, you should face the music.

You certainly have an excuse for everything, don't you. Don't try that in court or it will be worse for you.
