Honestly I do not think that Kansas City would get a team unless a team moved there. Right now the number of teams in the league is a good number and to add another would make it more difficult scheduling-wise for the NHL. Unless another team is added in as well I doubt a new team will be formed in Kansas City. However, if a team does move to Kansas City I think it should be the Washington Capitols but in about another 4 or 5 years. Right now they are not drawing the fan base that they deserve as an organization and once Ovechkin leaves them (which he most likely will when he becomes a free agent at the end of next season), their fanbase will drop even more.
To be completely honest I would love to see Kansas City get an NHL team. The middle of the country needs more involvement in the sport. And furthermore, I woulod like to see Maine get a team. I know they have a few minor league teams but its not nearly the same as the NHL.

If the NHL expands in the coming years. Kansas City would most likely be at the top of the list for cities to get a team. They'll have a brand new arena and the city is in constant talks with Bettman and the Owners to bring a team there.
Their first try at having an NHL team failed, but that was decades ago. If Hockey can thrive in St. Louis, only a few hours away, it can work in Kansas City too.

You've missed the Penguins already, sorry. They got their arena deal and are staying where they are. The league is pretty much committed to keeping the teams where they are if at all possible. It is possible, though not likely that a team will be coming Kansas City's way anytime soon. Personally, I don't know why anyone would want to go there. They had a team once and it didn't work out. If a team moved, Kansas City would not be my first choice for a location, despite their arena. You can likely make better money elsewhere.

The Penguins are NOT moving to Kansas City as they now have a new deal for a new arena and it would keep the Pens in Pittsburgh for 30 more years. If any other teams should relocate it should be either The Panthers, The Blue Jackets or The Predators.

To answer your question, Nashville should go to KC. They're leading the league and they still have trouble filling their arena. It's ridiculous. They deserve to play somewhere where they're appreciated. Sorry Nashville but you obviously don't care too much about your Predators anyway. Also I would like to say screw you for saying that you would've liked to see the Penguins go to KC. They have a much better fan base right here in Pittsburgh where they belong. That's why they're staying.

Take the Kings or Coyotes, please. Sure there are other ones that need to go but those two are right off the top of my head. Does anyone even realize that L.A. HAS a team? Does anyone even CARE? Then you have the Coyotes. HOCKEY DOESN'T BELONG IN THE DESERT. Anyway I don't think KC will support the team. If I wasn't a Pens fan I wish that K.C. would have got them to a degree, just to PROVE that K.C. won't support a team.

Watch for Nashville. They will not support a first place team now. Watch for them to move and do exactly what Quebec did after they became the Avs. 2008 or 2009 Stanley Cup Champs.

They are not getting a team. The Pens reached an agreement to keep them in Pittsburgh.
