Dear Friend,

What exactly do you mean exactly by the word Jealousy(not jealously) ?
It seems you have not properly seen the meaning of the word.The meaning is given below;

jealous: resentment against a rival, a person enjoying success or advantage, etc., or against another's success or advantage itself.
mental uneasiness from suspicion or fear of rivalry, unfaithfulness.
Do you see any positive or good thing in the meaning?

Jealousy means you are uneasy and sad that your friend or neighbour or somebody has thing good that you don't have.
Why do you want to be so?
Try yourself to acquire in a genuine way, justified way?
You get stress and finally depressed finally and you will be the sufferer, if you are jealous.
So try to compete and win .Then you will be happy.
You too have so many things. Are the people around you are jealous about you?I don't think anybody is.

For your survival jealousy is not the required thing.
Competitive spirit, love, friendship, understanding .....these qualities take you to great heights.Be happy with what you have.Contentment is VERY MUCH NEEDED FOR SURVIVAL HAPPILY.

So please be contended.Be happy with what has been bestowed upon you.Try hard to get what you need , and if you try hard you will definitely get it.
Try please.
Hope You understand and be happy.
God bless you.

Jealously is just another expression of Fear which is the source of all ethics and thus is a normal emotion (that does not mean it is good, but just a natural process that to a large part cannot be controlled.)

There is a fine line between fear and love....fear can develop into the concept that we call love. when this happens, fear/jealousness is a good thing

Jealousy is good for competition, and yes, survival to a certain extent. Guess what, I am so jealous of Mallya, i'd luv to own his country house at Goa...now thats inspiring, isnt it ????

No, it's a damn nuisance. Imagine being envious of the love between two or more people other than yourself?
It is so insidious because no one would admit to it voluntarily.

No. Be positive.

(This sounds like some dumb thing a fundamentalist Christian would write...but although I hate them, it's true. If you get rid of negative thoughts, everything gets a lot better).

If jealousy was good then it wouldn't be one of the "seven deadly sins."

there has to be bad, to know the value of good. likewise, you need to have jealous to understand the tolerance.
