My "most expensive" phone bill occurred years ago. My husband and I went to NY City and used the payphone, to make calls home. (our first trip there) Someone somehow, watched us punch in the numbers. A couple of weeks after returning home, we had some calls to Egypt....and owed the phone company several hundred dollars.

It was those damned text messages. It was over $200. I'm on a plan now that includes txt.

When my soon to be ex-husband and i first got our cell phones. He choose the wrong plan. We thought we were on the family plan (unlimited calls and texts to each other), but nope.
Our first bill came around and it was $900 something!

We had over $100.00 phone bill once and it was because he had added Internet service and we didn't know that we were charged for each text message.

Mine was $896. Way over in minutes due to family plan with one person that was too chatty. Needless to say, they no longer have their phone with us.

ten or so years ago I had one that was $600 - back when you paid for long-ditance and didn't have a lot of minutes and they were a buck each if you went over

144 bucks...but its because my dad made a bunch of calls to 411 and cingular charges almost 2 dollars a call.....ridiculous!

$150.00 it was from recived text messages.
I called and complained and then shut off the texting thing.
as well as all extra things other than phone (voice) services.
