I think it depends on how good either is. Bad relationship would be good to break-up, good job would be bad to lose and vice-versa.

I think it is harder to break up with a person because if you really loved that person, you can never get he or she back. You can get another job. I feel the emotional bond is stronger for a person than a job.

That's a real tough question. Both hurt and they hurt badly but of course in different ways. Or do they ? You begin that new job and you hope for acceptance, friendship, respect and you are fired or you feel forced to resign for reasons of your own.. You begin that new relationship and you hope for acceptance, friendship and of course love and you are dumped or you feel forced to end the relationship. Both have an aweful lot in common.

They are both bad in their own ways because the rejection you have suffered is real and it hurts and it means a revision of future life plans. Still, the romantic part of me says I would rather be fired than dumped.
