I have two golden retrievers that i got as puppies-- and they also urinate like female dogs and it is very normal... This is because they were not around an older MALE dog long enough to learn the raising of the leg-- A lot of male dogs urinate this way because most are bought/rescued as puppies.
As for recall information you can call 1-866-895-2708 or go to this link
http://www.menufoods.com/recall/product_dog.html
*Which will tell you the brand names of the recalls, and if you click them, will tell you the specific product.
Good luck!

squating is normal..its better that they squat anyway..raising the leg is a sign of marking territory..and when they learn to do that then they start to do it in your home, which is obviously not good. thats why its best to spay or neuter them as soon as possible..and you can go on yahoo and search for pet food recall and i think they had an aticle on it..there are a lot of foods that were recalled..

Squatting is normal and preferred. He was probably fixed before he started the leg lifting (marking) behavior and should not start now.
You can go to www.menufoods.com to find out more, they are the company responsible for making thefood that was sold under the various brand names.

I had a male Golden for 13 years, and until the day he died he squatted. I just chalked it up to he was just lazy?

How old is he? They often don't raise their leg until they're about 2 or 3. Some of them never do, but they usually do when they get older. They do that to mark their territory. If he's not worried about marking his territory, then he won't do it. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yes it is very normal (who would be stupid enough to tell you a thing like that anyway)???
Give 'em some M&M's and tell them they are smart pills and they should take them daily for stupidity.
SEW don't worry = be happy = now go out and play ball with your retriever hon...
