I have heard both sides to this from friends, family ect. My labor with my second was longer, but seemed to be more "manageable" for me than my first. That was probably most likely due to the fact that I knew what to expect the second time around. All pregnancies and labors are different. I hope things go quicker for you this time around. Congrats, and best of luck to you!!!

I was also induced with my first. The doctor told me that only 25% of women induced have to do it the second time. Sure enough that exactly what happened to me. The second labor was a bit longer but the contractions were sooo much easier and it only took 2 or 3 pushes! I was also able to relax a bit more because I knew what to expect and I 'd already been successful once. Hope it goes as well for you. PS the third was just as easy as the second.

I was in labour for 24 hours with my first child. I was in labour for only about 12 hours with my second. I was induced the first time but not the second. The first baby was a few ounces heavier. I was in good physical condition for both. I swam until I had the baby both times. I also did yoga. Each woman and each baby is different. Hopefully you will have an easy time. I found that staying active during labour helped a lot.

Good luck and congrats

It was MUCH easier the second time around for me (I was induce with both 1st and second too) They started the pitocien at about 9pm and around 7am I had the urge that I needed to push (this is the second child I'm describing). The nurses came in and checked me and had me roll on my side and not push to wait for my doctor to get there. Well the doctor didn't make it, my daughter just kind of slid right out without pushing lol. She was even born in the sac as my water had not broken. Good luck!

Although i went into labour natuarally with my first and not induced i have heard 2nd time round that the contractions and first stage of labour are more painful and intense but the pushing bit is easier and quicker. You know what to expect 2nd time to make it a bit more bearable.

I( read the other day that about 72 percent of ladies find labour better the second time round. I think it depends on the presentation of the baby and your body at the time.

Not necessarily. If you had a real hard time the first time this one may be easier - its all a matter of perspective. The second time is usually shorter in length than the first-was for me anyway and most of my friends. Plus having done it once you are usually not so afraid of it and relax more in the early stages. Really work on relaxing as much as you can in the early stages cause you may not get that break later. Good Luck and Congrats!!

Not always. I thought that the third would be easiest and he was the hardest. I was in labor 23 hours with my first, six with my second where I went from six to ten centimeters in ten minutes, and 28 hours with my third. The third was the worst...and the most painful. I wonder if it is because he is a boy! I was induced with all three...the first because my water broke and I did not progress fast enough, my second because she was a week-and-a-half late, and my third because labor was not progressing fast enough and he was a week late.

not necessarily, my first two were a breeze, really. I was induced both times, and my 1st son came in 4 hrs, 21 min., my 2nd son came in 3 hrs, 40 min. BUT, my third son, i was also induced, had complications and i was actually prepped for a c - section. Fortunately he came natural, after 6 hrs and 30 min or so of hell. I don't love him any less though. good luck, and just remember - it might be horrible pain, but when it's all over, it's over, and you will have another gorgeous miracle. It's so worth it!

I don't think it gets any easier really. Maybe you know more what to expect, so can deal with it better. Any labor that is induced is probably harder than going into labor naturally, though. Hopefully you'll go into labor on your own. Good Luck & Congrats.

As far as pain is concerned no, but I was induced and labor pains to me are definetly harder and stronger (being induced) but I think that the more you have the faster it goes. So I guess you would say that it goes faster the 2nd time around but the pain is not any better.
