I know you are going to hate this, but practise makes perfect!
You just have to build up your muscles, strength, and balance. Are you trying to do a back bend/crab?
I found that doing it onto a higher surface was best forst-the sofa, etc, just to get used to it. We also tryed walking down the wall. *stand with your back to the wall allowing room to bend back...then walk your hadns down the wall until you get to the crab)
It really helps, bu mainly, just keep trying...oh and you can get your hadn to take some of your weight on their hand placing it beneath your back...

You'll have to strengthen the muscles around the base of your back and spine. If you're trying to do a full back-bend, those muscles help support your upper body from gravity pulling your entire body down as you reach for the ground.

A good way to start is to position your feet a little wider than shoulder-width apart. Put your arms in the air, and slowly let your arms guide you to the ground as if you were actually going to go all the way down, but stop once you feel "pull" in your lower back. Hold your body there for a few seconds, then just as slowly, pull yourself back up to standing. Do this with a wall or some other support behind you in case you lose your balance.

It sounds like you are trying to do a backbend like you would learn in gymnastics.
To do this, start with your feet a bit wider than shoulder width. Reach both arms straight up--always keep your arms completely straight, if they are bent you could hit your head--look up at your fingers while you are going back. Bend your knees slightly and lean into your hips--like you are pushing your belly button forward--your weight will be in the balls of your feet, not your heels. Keeping your legs and torso tight and squeezing--slowly look back for the floor. Keep everything tight so you don't just fall on your hands--this will hurt your wrists--you need to be strong enough to lower yourself down onto your hands gently. Come up the same way--lean your hips forward over your toes and lift with your quads, you upper body and head are last to come up. It's kind of like a "wave" with you legs and hips first then it follows through your back and ends with your head.
You can practice by walking your hands down a wall and up. You can also stand at the end of a bed and practice doing it, when that is easy find something shorter and shorter until you can make it all the way down to the floor.

Yeah, there is. A good way to practice is to find a wall. Stand with your back against the wall and your feet hip width apart. Then, put your hands on the wall behind you. Slowly walk them down until you are bending backwards. The wall should support you, so you won't fall. Good luck! :)

Follow your hands backward. Keep going until you've touched the floor. *Pointer*: don't look to the sides or you'll fall to the side. Look straight up at your hands.
