Do you like your job? Or are you like be at a crossroads not knowing what to do next? What do you do for a living and is it fulfilling?? Or did you dream of being something else. I am 32 and a flight attendant, and I am sick of it..I still want to do it for the health benefits, flight benefits, etc...but I want to have a second job, go back to school, or do something challenging... (without too much work, I get migraine headaches they can zomp me out sometimes)...I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A FASHION DESIGNER but I am old, I am 32..would it be wise to go back to school to be a fashion designer this late in the game? I want to LOVE to go to work...

I have had several jobs, I am currently temping as an Admin. I'm always at a crossroads. I had too many obsticals, and some of them I could have prevented but I had no guidence, and now I' almost 40 with no carreer. I went to school for fashion design and I feel I was lied to, because the school I went to taught a lot about business and very littl about fashion. I beleive I had one design class, one sewing class and one art class, the rest was business, math, english ect... Also you are never too old, just don't get married or have kids, if you don't already, this will slow you down. I know I did, and now I'm being pulled in too many directions and I cannot find the time to go back to school. Also stay healthy and inshape incase you have to pull a large load of school and work. As we age things do become a little harder, and I find myself more tired than I was just a few years ago. Also a lot of schools teach on line now so you might be able to continue your job. I wish you the best of luck, and never stop trying.

I absolutely totally 100% LOVE my job. Both what I do and where I do it. I’m a Property Manager. Not that this is the type of job for everyone, but you said to write if you love your job so….
What I like the most about what I do is that, in dealing with rental tenants all the time, there is never a dull moment. All the crazy things tenants do (patching a hole in the wall with scotch tape and white-out) to all their crazy late payment excuses (used the rent $ for a DNA test).
My true passion (unfortunately not discovered until 2 years ago) is sewing. That’s why I love where I work, I can do what I love all day and still have evenings and weekends to do the other thing I totally love.
I make mostly baby and children’s clothes and then sell my creations at local consignment shops, so there’s no reason why you can’t dabble in fashion design on your free time.
Take evening classes which may be offered through local sewing shops on various subject matters. Or check your local universities and see if there are any evening classes or Saturday courses that you can take towards a textiles degree.
There are loads of ways that you could get yourself started on this without jeopardizing your current job. You also don’t have to go into mass production. There is always a local demand for individualized wedding dresses, prom dresses and other one-offs that you could design for specific people in your own shop where you make what you want and make your own hours. Or you could get the education and get hired by a clothing manufacture to make designs under their label.

I love my job but it is not my passion. I do technical support for a company that leases restaurant equipment. It sounds boring but I love it. It's relatively easy, the people here are great, the benefits are awesome, and at the end of the day I don't have to take my work home with me. In between calls I can pretty much just relax, read the news, etc. It's great. I think it's very rare when people can do what they love for a living. Work is not supposed to be fun of fulfill a passion. While some jobs can do that, again I think it is very rare. I have a bachelor's degree in advertising and public relations. I had a hard time finding a job in my field because I had no experience. I kind of fell into my current job and I wouldn't go back. Could I make more money doing something with my degree? Probably. But I make enough to get by now and I am happy with my job. To me, happiness is worth more than money. If you're sick of your job, I would recommend trying out something else. By all means try to find something you like. However, I'm a realist and would argue that it is very hard to find a job you actually enjoy doing. Good luck!

Its good to be open. Many people are just working not because they like their jobs BUT they have no alternative OR they look at the benefits they don't want to fore go. I would think a mature person should be bold to do what she likes especially if he/she has means. From the question above, i would suggest that she leaves and start that design/fashion business. She does not need to participate BUT to give a strategic direction since at 32 years, she may be of age

I am only 23...and am just figuring out what I want with my own life. I just got hired on to a new job with a chiropractic office cause I've always been interested in alternative medicine. My thought is, if you don't like what you are doing find something new. If you have always wanted to be a fashion designer, age doesn't matter, your passion for it will make up for anything. I say, go for it. You never know what amazing places it will take you!! I wish you all the luck in the world :)

I love my job and life. I'm a quality consultant. Sometimes I go into the office, sometimes I work from home. Take time off when I want as long as my schedules don't conflict with the client's schedules and also make money on the side with other businesses.
When I was growing up, I didn't want to be a consultant. I just wanted to do music but of course, people gotta be realistic. hahaha. Anyways, i'm 25, so yeah..i feel fortunate.

I can honestly say that I love my job! I am a health and physical education teacher for grades K-12. I played college basketball for three years and I consider myself to be a jock so I figured what better a place to spend the rest of my time then in a GYM!! Haha The kids are great and I learn so much from them everyday, they teach me to not take life so seriously.....have a good laugh now and then! (they sometimes forget their own advice when I jump in a game and end with a winning streak) I dont think that God himself could have stuck me with a better job. You will be fine, everything works out the way it is supposed to!!!!

I LOVE my job! I teach third grade and everyday I totally look forward to go in. I worked at wal*mart photo lab 8 years to put myself through school (not all 8 years) and I hated it! I liked the job, I was good at it. I loved the people I worked with. I did NOT like the service aspect of dealing with customers and I knew in my heart it was not for me. I called in all the time and I was the first to volunteer to go home early.
Now, my day goes by SO fast! Hours go by like minutes! I just love it so much and welcome the challenges it brings. When you find what career is for YOU, you will know it!
32 is not too old to go into fashion. Do what makes you happy. Go for it!
Best of luck! :)

I did not love my job for a long time though I was quite competent at it. I wanted to be a medical doctor but ended up becoming a metallurgist. See my profile. Now I am nearly 59 and am at peace with myself and my job, since I realised that some higher power has been guiding me all my life. Now, I am a holistic healer (I don't charge any fee and so no problem) and am a Reiki Master, a spiritual healer and counsellor in addition to my regular job. So, I love what I am doing since I know that it is needed.

I like my job. I love my job. I am a clinical therapist to children who have been physically and sexually abused. I see a lot of sad things, but the end result makes the bad times worth it.
