I am sure he is. At 25, he is pretty young still (considering he came to the NBA out of high school). I believe he had microfracture surgery on his right knee. Plenty of players (Stockton, Kidd, Webber, Anfernee Hardaway, McDyess, Amare Stoudemire) have come back to the NBA after this procedure, but their level of ability after coming back is not always the same. Stockton and Kidd had pretty good careers after the surgery, but they don't play overly athletic games. Webber is now having a decent season, but he relies on jumpshots or setting up in the post (thank God he's a good passer) which is entirely different from his previously explosive play. Stoudemire is regaining that explosiveness, but he is younger than Miles. I think the worst case scenario could be McDyess. That guy used to jump out of the building with Denver. He then went through several seasons where he kept trying to come back before he was ready. Although at his age, many NBA players experience a decline in their level of play, he never really got the explosiveness back. He's still a good sixth man for detriot, but he looked like a franchise player before his injury.
Essentially, Darius Miles played with a lot of athleticism. He really doesn't have much of a jumpshot to rely on, so if he can't regain that athletic ability, then he'll have to find a shot and extend his range to become a force in the NBA still. I definitely wouldn't count him out though. Contrary to those other responses, I think he is a very good player, and has the potential to still be one when he comes back.

why wouldn't he be? He's not the superstar that people envisioned him to be, but he can still have a solid NBA career, If he gets his head straight he could be a great defender and an important role player on a good team.
