I'm not interested in biases displayed by commentators. They are paid to discuss issues and proffer opinions. They are not newscasters, any more than Olbermann or Jon Stewart are.

Having said that, can someone provide an example of a bias in an actual newscast aired on Fox?

yuckufahoo: According to that line of reasoning, ABC was biased for all those years because Pierre Sallinger was once JFK's press secretary. Is that your assertion?

kenny j: Thank you for proving my point. Hannity and O'Reilly are COMMENTATORS. If you guys don't know the difference between news and commentary, I can't help you.

trouble maker: Your link discusses O'Relly. I think you missed the point of this entire question. He is a commentator.

Awesome question!!

Personally, I have noticed that liberals tend to cry bias/racism/bigotry/etc. whenever someone doesnt' agree with them. They rarely base those accusations on facts.

EDIT:
The White House can hire whomever they want. All reporters/journalists are people with their own opinions. What matters is whether or not they report with those opinions in their news casts, or do they give a fair showing of BOTH sides.

Fear mongering accusations. Hmmm.... Maybe it's because the world is INSANE right now. And liberals accuse Fox of fear mongering because they are showing the truths that you'd prefer to ignore and pretend don't exist?

So what if they are there a commercial broadcaster . I live in Britain and the BBC is funded by the public yet its biased and breaking its charter . Its run by left wingers who are obsessed with political correctness and loves the EU . Fox is a Murdoch station so most likely will lean to the right so you should expect it but its like a newspaper you can choose to ignore it .

FN talks about pro-repub issues and derrogatory dem issues. Every show they put on is typically Republicans interviewing other Republicans about Republican issues.

Except for when they are bashing Dem issues.

You watch it, correct? You should already know these things.

Sure. Here is a link showing that Fox viewers are the most likely to be misinformed about the War. This would definitely be a symptom showing Fox News is the worst at conveying accurate news.

Edit: you know, wikipedia offers links to their sources. It is just a way to organize the information. Here is the report the wikistatistics were based on.

And the story that talked about it:

NO, because there is none!

Fox news is the ONLY news channel that i know of that is NOT biased!

Fox trys to present BOTH sides of an issue!! UNLIKE the MAJORITY of all the Liberal news stations who like to keep the American public in the dark, by DISTORTING the truth!!!!!!
Were YOU surprised by the AMOUNT of illegals in this country??? Most Americans were SHOCKED to realize the enormity of the problem!!!

The other channels did NOT show any of the dozens of pictures of ILLEGALS sneaking across our border!!! But, Fox DID!!!

The other channels did NOT show the thousands of illegals flying their mexican flag last May, but Fox DID!!! (The other stations tried to ONLY show those pictures of the illegals/supporters that were carrying the U.S. flag!!)

The other channels are all run by Liberals, and that's why i never waste my time watching them!!!

Actually, if they wanted to be on COMEDY CENTRAL, you can compare them to other comedians. but they are on FOX NEWS, so many are confused and see their commentary as fact. now, i have heard WAY more cons complain that EVERYTHING has a liberal bias. And that question from me is about to post...lol

absolutely...tune into fox 10PM broadcast.....every night they use subtle scare tactis to bolster ratings and keep viewers afraid. if people are afraid, they immediately flock to the powers that be, i.e. the government, who at this point is republican and conservative.

another point, the owner of FOX news is Rupert Murdoch, one of the GOP's biggest supporters. That fact alone dictates what type of debate they choose to air, who to invite, and who sponsors them.

thirdly, the fact that fox news, and even the channel itself, are not truly involved in the news, but rather infotainment...basically throwing out half truths to the people, nothing supporting their claims, but using clever wording make the unaware public secretly biased to their point of view.

FOX doesnt use overt tactics most of the time, they choose to use fear mongering and intimidation to prove their points. case in point, O'Reilly Factor. (yes, i know, a commentator, but you dont see anyone supporting the other team on there to offer a rebuttal)

Far lefties are just pissed that they can only hear what they want to hear on the comedy channel. It's the only channel that reaches out to the kook left.

Only Fox Channels provides views from both sides and I see often O'Reilly debates with Lefties. Never see CBS, CNN doing that.
