I would just like to find some cool music in the language. And what type of music is the most popular there?

Yes, Czech is a language, and I have lived here for over a year, and have yet to hear any marching band type of music.

To answer the original question... It really depends on what kind of music you are looking for. Czechs are very expressive people, and love music. While american music is very popular here, it is not all they have. Some of the Czech music that I like to listen to is Chinaski (they do some in english and some in Czech) and Petr Kolar. Remember that these are not typed in english either... The r in Kolar has a hacek over it which looks like a small v.

If you need some more help, feel free to contact me at carpenoctu@yahoo.com and I will give you some more names... Just let me know what kind of music you like... Classical, Opera, R&B, Rock, Metal (all forms) Rap (which is kind of funny) Techno... Whatever you like, I'm sure it can be found.

My favorite Czech band is Cechomor. They play very nice music and they sing in Czech. You can hear some of their music on their website, http://www.cechomor.cz/ Just click on Média and then choose Audio or Video and there you will find media files.

From what I know, the marching-band-style music and silly pop are the most popular, but one great band is XIII Stoleti.

Is Czech a language. I though it was just a nationality.
