Wow, people seem to just dismiss how phenomenal Alex Rodriquez has been up to this point in his career. The man could very well hit 800 home runs, score 2,000 runs, drive home 2,000 runs and get 3,500 base hits. That is astounding.
Don't get me wrong, Jeter is a great player, a Hall of Fame player. However, when all is said and done and enough time has passed so that people can truly appreciate all of Rodriquez's accomplishments (without the daily noise that surrounds his salary) he could very well go down as one of the top three players of all time.
And by the way, to say Jeter doesn't do it for the money is short-sighted in my opinion. I'm sure he loves the game, but he also makes $20 million a year. Just because he doesn't have an agent who is a loudmouth and rubs people the wrong way doesn't mean Mr. Jeter is not also looking out for number one.

Alex Rodriquez hits with more power.
Derek Jeter hits for a better average, is a better defensive player, and a better teammate and clubhouse presence.
I'd say Derek Jeter is better.

I definitely think Derek Jeter! He is more of a team player and always will be! Alex Rodriguez thinks only of his own stats.

Not even close. Arod at SS would make the Yankees a world series contender again. Jeter is way to selfish to let this happen tho which is fine with me since I am Red Sox fan.

that is a really hard question. i mean, they are the best in different categories. Jeter is a conact hitter and arod is a power hitter. I would say they are about the same

derek Jeter is an over all better player who doesnt just play for money but for the love of the game. Unlike A-Rod who is traded from team to team just to get more money.
