I live near St. Louis and I'm looking for someone who can help me find out exactly who this person that has been "magically appearing" in my life, whenever he wants, for a few years now. I'm familiar with all the sights on the net that you can pay to get info, but i'm very skeptical. Basically I just want a criminal background check on the guy.

The best way to get a criminal background check on some one is to hire a former police officer that is a PI. They have contacts. You can get further information if you have the money to pay. Usually a PI will want a fee up front for his or her service. On the net it usually cost some money. The best advise I can give you is if you do not trust the person enough and wish to have a background check done then you really should trust your instinct. If you want a thorough investigation of this person then it usually cost some money. Not small change. There are lots of web sites that will do background checks however. Good Luck. Call the police department in your precinct and they will give you a name of a reputable investigator. they know the quacks from the genuinely good detectives. Sometimes the police officers are criminal detectives as their second job.
