Can anyone tell me how to improve my reading skills up to a 9th grade level, i have to take a placement test and need to study fast

Read, read, read. I think that's the best way to improve your skills--with practice.

Read things you are interested in and already understand. If you like baseball, pick a biography on a favorite player.

You could also try studying phonics...would help you to sound out words. Use dictionary.com to look up word definitions quickly. It also connects you to thesaurus.com which will help you quickly see other words that mean the same thing (I think that would help your comprehension).
