Agree with you 100%
Hardly ever puts a foot wrong, solid as a rock.
I just wonder if it's because he doesn't go forward as much as some of the others?
But I'd choose him over Ferdinand any day.
Rio's mouth is the same shape as Barney Gumball in the Simpsons lol.

Central defensive partnerships usually work best when you have a hard man to take care of the rough stuff (in England's case John Terry) and a more cultured defender to take care of the tactical side, and bring the ball out of defence to set up attacks. Carragher is more of a hard man type...and he has the current England captain blocking his path.

Drop Ferdinand and replace him with Carragher would give us a defence with two hard men centre backs, and it would probably be unbalanced. The last time we tried that was during Euro 2004 when we played Terry alongside Sol Campbell...and England conceded 6 goals in 4 games!

No way, he did have a super season yet i think of he should not be a everyday determination. he's a perfect participant to hide numerous roles ought to England be hit by utilising an harm or if Sven needs to play carefully and shelter a lead. The commencing line up ought to be (presuming all gamers are in advantageous condition) Robinson Neville Terry Ferdinand A Cole Beckham Gerrard Lampard J Cole Rooney Owen

i totally agree with you. Manchester United is a big club and good at attacking so they dun really need defending. Ferdinand just lucky and taking the spotlight. Carragher is much better and tackle better.

Yes he is under-rated but not good enough to play centre back for England. Terry, Woodgate, Ferdinand then maybe Carragher

I think he is great, i would play either him or Rio, i dont really like Rio but he is a ggod player.. If McClarren decided to play Carragher over Rio that would be absolutly fine by me.... He puts in sooooooooooooooo much more effort than Rio

added... Why the thumbs down?? Carragher runs all over the pitch tackling every one.... Rio has a 10 metre radius

I was asking myself the same question! England should definetly choose Carra - he is the best in the country, and surely better than Ferdinand.

Well I must admit it does amaze me how Carra does not consistently get into this England team. OK Ferdiand's good, but Carra is awesome. If he can produce two as good as I've seen displays against Barcelona then surely he can defend against anyone in the world.

As for Phil Neville - he shouldn't even be in the squad.

Woodgate before Carragher? Never in a million years. Woodgate is okay but not anywhere near Carra.
