Have you read Sonya Sones? She's great. Highly recommend her. I also LOVE Joan Bauer. She wrote Hope Was Here and Squashed among others. I really love Stephenie Meyer. She's written the ever-popular Twilight series (Twilight, New Moon--are the two released and available...more will be coming of course). I love Scott Westerfeld. He's written several series (Uglies trilogy, Midnighters Trilogy, Peeps and Last Days companion series) and So Yesterday.
You might love Skin by Adrienne Vrettos...it was one of my favorites from last year. Have you read Just Listen by Sarah Dessen??? And what about Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson...it is so good. And how could I forget to mention the series by Libba Bray...I love A Great and Terrible Beauty and Rebel Angels.
There are so many great titles out there...you should visit my site for more recommendations and reviews...

If you liked Jemima J. try some of Jane Green's other books like Bookends or Mr. Maybe. Also check out The Lovely Bones (can't remember author off the top of my head) and the Traveling Pants series. (I'm 22, but I still enjoyed them) Maybe check out Bergdorf Blondes by Plum Sykes. Happy reading!

Try something different. DRAGONSONG by Anne McCaffrey is about a young girl (13 or 14) who wants to be a composer/singer/teacher. Her family is pretty hidebound and they KNOW that girls can't do that. Menolly chooses to run away and live without a home rather than live without music.
It's set on a fascinating science fiction world and there's a whole series of books. The ones about Menolly are DRAGONSONG and DRAGONSINGER, but she re-appears a little older in DRAGONDRUMS and WHITE DRAGON.
