Examine the others who tried out. At the time, it seemed like a good idea. Now that he's next to actual good singers, we can see how awful he is. *shudder*

They picked him for the show because he showed enough talent to warrant the trip to Hollywood. The fact that he is not as good as the others on the show is a detriment, of course.And thru no fault of his own, make no mistake, he is overmatched with the others. But he does not deserve all the venom and complaining that I have seen by people here in this forum. Obviously, he is still on the show because people are voting for him and their reasons for doing so are their own. Just as obviously, he will leave the show at some point. If you want to blame anyone for Sanjaya still being on the show, blame the people who don't vote more heavily for all the others.

He must have had good early auditions. I actually find him to be very likeable and cute ;) He's way too young for me though :) His performance last night was the best that I've ever seen of him. He really came out of his shell as randy mentioned and stepped out of his comfort zone. I don't believe that he will be staying on much longer, but at least he has improved dramatically from the prior weeks and that can be a great start.

because they see something in him that you didnt he has a beautiful voice i think that you havent experience a man like Sanjaya who is in touch with his feminine side which tends to throw men & women off who havent gotten in touch with their other side i think of Prince when he sings the boy has skills

I've been watching since the beginning of the season and I actually really liked him at first. I think it was the same for the judges.
Now...not so much!

They are losing the market in the gay sector, hence might as well keep one as long as possible to keep the gay community happy. Kind of queer, I mean weird that they take pride of talent yet they refuse to accept that this guy/girl/it has as much talent as rock.

I'm not sure either, he was good at the auditions (in comparison) but that's about it. He needs to pack (fast).
