This is a tricky one. if a person has oodles of talent and not enough guts to open his mouth anywhere , he will be sitting his whole life, doing nothing, except what life throws his way.
what if a person has only attitude? he'll definitely be more successfull than a person with only aptitude, as he can fight his way up or charm people etcetra.
I feel that it is a 50-50 equation. there are some professions where you can suceed only if you have aptitude, like performing arts , whereas in other fields, you need both. there's only one profession in the world where you need neither attitude nor aptitude and that's politics just look at george bush jr. and you'll know.

Attitude is a concept in psychology. An aptitude is an innate ability to do a certain kind of work. Aptitudes may be physical or mental. Going without one doesn't help in securing success. Neither you win a war with JUST Attitude nor with JUST Aptitude.

To win a game, you need have to be positive mind as well as physically fitness. Similarly, you can't win people if you are built strongly but don't know how to greet with smile.

Psychology speaking Attitude is most important. Speaking in terms of physical/mental power, Aptitude is important. For e.g. If you give are given a task of lifting 100 Kg, but don't want to lift it - There is no way one can make you do it.

On the other side, if you are asked to lift a truck, even if you want to you can't lift a truck. Unfortunately, physically it is not possible for an average human.

Ultimately, both are required equally.

It is aptitude which takes the one forward, becoz this trait helps the person to incline and mould himself according to the situations and also in crossing the barriers, wheras attitude make him fall down from the higher position.

You want some of both. A good, positive attitude combined with ability is what I want in an employee. Its what will get them moved up fastest.

Attitude - relates to your personality - how you view life, your job, your friends - are you arrogant and humble / are you ignorant or hard working etccccc

Aptitude: whether you have a "knack" for particular things - can you cook well / paint well etc

Both, although I prefer to refer to them as Behavioral Attributes and Technical Skills.

Given a choice, I will hire someone with a good work ethic, integrity, and strong team skills over someone who may be more technically competent but has lower behavioral attributes. You can teach technical skills - you can't easily teach someone how to get along with others, or how to act with integrity, or how to be accountable.
