I got my first positive opk result on Saturday. I took my bbt for the first time this morning, just to see what it was and it was 97.08, shouldn't a normal bbt be higher than this if I have already ovulated according to my opk test?

Maybe you read your OPK wrong. If it was even a tad bit lighter then the test color you weren't ovulating. You need to take them every day for 7 days. And your right, your temp should be up now. but if you aren't using a BBT, like instead your using a fever thermometer, it could screw things up.

Basal temperatures can vary from woman to woman. Charting for a few months will show this variation in temperature. Also watch for the other signs of ovulation, such as mucus and pain in your side. Be sure to start taking prenatal vitamins now, so your baby has a great start when you do conceive. Take folic acid for sure, this helps to prevent spina bifada.

Good Luck
