Everyone complains about how hard English is but it's not any harder than any other language. Every language in the world has it's own idiosyncracies, slang, idioms, grammatical and vocabulary anomalies. Take Chinese for example - it's comprised of 2 main dialects (with hundreds of minor ones) Mandarin with 4 tones and Cantonese with 7 tones. This means that 1 word can have 4 or 7 meanings depending on whether you use a rising, falling or undulating tone. Imagine if you asked someone "how's your ma?" the wrong way - it could mean how's your mother or how's your horse?... Add to this learning several thousand ideograms (chinese symbols which can mean whole ideas not just individual letters). Anyway, I've taught ESL to immigrants for many years and those who really wanted to learn English did so by complaining less about the language than those who really didn't want to. In Vancouver we have a huge Asian population who can survive very well here without learning ANY English because virtually all services are available in their own language. For these people English is VERY HARD....
(PS -I speak 7 languages and I'm learning my 8th)

It might surely be tougher for English folks to be trained Chinese, alternatively of Chinese folks to be trained English. There are more than one motives for this: a million. The Chinese language has an unlimited quantity of phrases, such a lot in order that even adults in China would not have an increased vocabulary to be in a position to make use of greater than possibly eighty%, whilst the English language has a abundant quantity of phrases, however surely much less. two. Similarly, the English language has an alphabet of handiest 26 letters, which means there are a constrained quantity of phrases you'll be able to create from the ones 26 letters, in comparison to the truth that there's NO Chinese alphabet -- simply many, many, many, phrases. two. If a Chinese man or woman had been to be trained English however continue an Asian accessory, the phrases might nonetheless have the identical which means. If an English speaker had been to mention some thing in Chinese with the flawed accessory, considering that there are special tones for every 'vowel' within the Chinese language, they might reduce to rubble the which means entirely and difference the phrase to some thing that's entirely special. There are plenty extra motives why it's tougher to be trained Chinese, however then I'd be typing a unique. Feel unfastened to invite you probably have extra questions, by way of e-mail or by way of IM'ing me. Hope this helped!

Why is typing correctly so hard to do? I mean, capital letters, and all??
Other languages are also hard to learn. Everywhere you go, there is the denotation (dictionary meaning) and connotation (slang usage). But yes you are right, English is very hard.
