This is a tough choice! Both were grand games. They both had their moments, like "You're getting too close schamoose" or like how someone dies of dysentery. The replay value was pretty high on both games. And how can you forget the hunting in Oregon trail or the free World Almanac that came with Carmen San Diego because what 6th grader really knew the capitol of Bulgaria anyways?

Though Oregon Trail was never turned into a TV series with its own signing group and room sized maps of the continents that aired on public TV, Oregon Trail did have a much longer string of PC versions, Oregon Trail 5? Though the graphics still sucked on that version.

So, I vote for Carmen San Diego, it was more educational, and I liked the hand with the exploding present.

I remember playing the old DOS version of it. It's was a great game. I loved the sounds and the "click-click-click" when you go to investigate.

I like Carmen San Diego. It has always challenged the player to be inquisitive and deductive. it can still be challenging today

Oregon Trail all the way. How many other games back then gave you as much freedom as that one did? Your family could get sick, you could go hunting, and you could even barter! awesome game.
