Many autrocities occurred that have been sanitized by historians and our refusal to look at the naked truth of genoside. Yes they were burned alive particularly the infants. Sorry to be so forethright. I met a man named Peter Loth who was born in a concentration camp, tortured, experimented on, and raised in a Russian camp after WWII. His story is truely amazing, more so considering nearly all preganant women had their unborn babies literally ripped from their bodies when processed into the camps. You will not be disappointed by what you read, but definately awed. His web site is www.ForerunnerMinistries.org.

the two. The Nazis burned the bodies to get rid of the data. yet additionally they threw men, women human beings, babies into the ovens merely because of fact they might. additionally, at cases, while ending up a software, the Jews have been shot en masse by using the Nazis. while that exceeded off, they shot this way of good form of of them that not all of them died. in keeping with the place they have been shot, Jewish prisoners have been made to hold the bodies to the ovens the place the bodies have been cremated. they had to try this or the Nazis might have shot them. So under Nazi supervision there is not any understanding precisely how many victims have been nonetheless alive on the time they have been placed into the oven to be burned.

In Auschwitz, they were gassed under the guise of a harmless shower, their bodies were cremated and the ashes were strewn in a nearby swamp. It was a horrible mis-use of language as many acts of violence and horror were disguised or cloaked in terms such as "relocation" or "bathing".
Other atrocities were reported later by those who witnessed them, noteably: 'In 1959, however, a German eyewitness, Fritz Höfer, who had been a truck driver in Sonderkommando 4a, had more to say. Höfer detailed how the Germans, aided and abetted by their Ukrainian collaborators, rounded up the Jews and forced them to strip, leave their valuables behind, and enter "a ravine that was about 150 meters long, 30 meters wide, and a good 15 meters deep." He said that "no distinction was made between men, women, and children." Once in the ravine, the Jews were "made to lie down on top of Jews who had already been shot. This all happened very quickly. The corpses were literally in layers. A police marksman came along and shot each Jew in the neck with a submachine gun at the spot where he was lying." Until it was too late, said Höfer, the Jews approached Babi Yar "still under the impression that they were being resettled.'
the level of atrocities committed then has virtually no rival. i suggest you read the whole of the Holocaust Chronicle, as it details the systematic planning and wholesale slaughter of a people deemed a threat to the ever widening stain of Hitler's worldview.
Our job is to find ways to prevent this sort of thing from ever happening again. To anyone. Anywhere.

I'm pretty sure none were ever burned alive in the OVENS. The ovens were for cremation of bodies, after the people were gassed to death (or died in other way within the camp- starvation, sickness, shot by a guard, etc).
If you've ever had the chance to visit one of the concentration camps and seen the ovens (like I have), it's hard to imagine anyone could be stuffed in alive as they have very small and narrow openings. I'm not going to say it never happened, but it certainly never happened on a large scale.

The Nazis had many methods of killing their prisoners, not only the Jews, but yes, Jews were targeted as entire population.
The thing that you mentioned weren't actually ovens, they're called crematoria (sg. crematorium) and they were designed to burn dead bodies, however the Nazis were fond of putting living people into that as they simply didn't care. Gas chambers are another thing. As I've read in history books, Nazis would tell the prisoners, mostly Jews, to take a shower. Then they would close seal in big shower rooms, hundreds of them in each and release poisonous gas called Ziklon B and wait until people inside choke. These were just one of many methods the Nazis used to kill people. Many people have died of bullets, beating, starvation and diseases that spread in the camps designed for mass killings.
Grossome methods of killing like crematoria, starvation and gas chambers were used to reduce the cost of killings as the Nazis were trying to save every penny to use it for other purposes (their military) and you can guess they didn't value human life or human dignity at all.
It's good you asked this question since we as humans must make sure such a thing never happens again.

No. While maybe there was the odd victim who was not dead, the crematoria were used for disposal, not execution. In the camps, the victims were mostly gassed, then burned.
After the victims had been gassed, they cut their hair & extracted gold teeth. This would have been hard to do with a live victim.

Gassed is closer to it than burned.
They were gassed, along with Homosexuals and Gypsies.

They were killed in many disgusting ways.
It makes me sick to the stomach that such atrocities occurred in Germany as little as 60 years ago and we should never forget.
