I have a ABit AV8 motherboard, onboard audio, and frontpanel audio.
Today I bought a Sennheiser Headset, plugged it in, and it had problems detecting it. Therefore, I put the frontpanel audio on. Now the headphones and surround system both work perfect. No problem.
The problem lies with my mic.
Whenever I want to record something with my microphone, it does not record what I say, but records what I play with WinAMP at that time. It's like I plugged it in an audio-out, but the color is clearly pink, and on my mobo it does say MIC IN. It's not that I have plugged it in incorrectly, but there's something else wrong. I have no idea what.
NOTE: I have installed all the motherboard drivers correctly. Maybe it's usefull if I say that I too know shizzle about hardware, so you can explain it the way you want.

Sorry if it's a lot to read.

Greetings,
Simon

I tried that, and the recording isn't what I say/have said, but what I play in WinAmp, or game, or something else. The mic is working, in a way, but not the way I want it. How can I stop it recording music I play, and start recording what I say?

Hi. Try going to "Start> All programs> Accessories> Entertainment> Volume control" . Make sure the Mike is not muted. Then click "Options> Properties" and click the recording button. Make sure Mike is one of the selected items. Good luck!
