1.) Defrag your hard-drive

2.) Install more ram (1 to 2 gigs)

3.) Use FireFox as your default browser

4.) Download and install SpyBot Search&Destroy and AdAware SE. Update the definitions, then run a full scan with each one.

5.) Download, update and run Spyware Blaster

6.) Try not to run too many programs at one time. This will slow down your system if you don't have enough ram installed. 2 to 3 programs running at one time is good enough when you have the proper amount of ram installed.

7.) DO NOT run more than one Anti-Virus or FireWall program on your system, they will conflict with each other, cause it to slow-down, and may even disrupt your computer's functionality. Use Anti-Virus and FireWalls that are light on resources, Norton and McAfee are known to suck loads of resources. Research what programs are BEST suited for your operating system. I suggest Kerio Firewall and AVG Anti-Virus, these are the TOP-RATED free programs!!

yes my friend i do have several ideas:

1. upgrade to a intel genuine celeron processor w/ 850mhz
and 810 chipset pins.. thus your computer will run even faster than an amd athalon porcessor does.

2. for the internet

i recomend you upgrade to an D-link fastethernet card only because it only takes about..9.8 seconds faster than dsl or at&t dial up andd not only that that is what i have on my pc w/ windows 98 second editon.

3. For the dreded cookies

goto: www.google.com and type in: AVG free download
and then select the first AVG free download that comes then
downoad it and you are done! / then you go back to the serch engine www adress bar and type in: www.zonelabs.com then select downloads after that you download zone labs and you go from there.. there are cool features like internet watch that monitors the flow of internet acess with a red and green vertical bars that will show you the flow of internet acess and watches out for any bad things such as viruses, and the dreded cookies that we all dread of!

Using registry cleaner can fix your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there are some regsitry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".
Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically! It even can speed up your computer by 300% or more!

Have you tried the disk defragment? Also, uninstall some unnecessary programs to save your computer some spaces. You might need to upgrade the memory for your computer.
