Testosterone levels are higher in the early hours. This causes men to have erections. It is very normal.

With regards to the headaches, he should consult a doctor.

Listen mate I'm 60 years and wake up each morning with an erection. It's normal so don't worry and by the way it will prevent you rolling out of the bed each morning! Get it?

NOT THE HEADACHES, AND ERECTIONS NO, but he could be having some major sexual dreams, men usually urn to masturbating in a marriage or porn if they can't fill there sexual desires they might have. A wife should not delay having sex, it's unnatural for a man, and women could lead there men to porn addicts and masturbators

I don't think he has anything to worry about, but obviously he is concerned so maybe he should see his doctor. Morning erections are perfectly normal and may indicate a full bladder.
