My locs are thick, long(mid-back), & I have a big head. My swim lessons require a swim cap be worn, but I can't start them unless I find the right cap. Thanks for your help & recommendations.

Speedo makes a specific cap for people with longer hair. The cap is supposed to fit snug at the base and stretch to accommodate more hair at the top. Here's the link to the cap:

Gather your hair at the base of your neck and make a pony tail. Twist your hair tail up into an elongated bun.

Be sure to check with a local swim shop first and get their recommendation. They may also have some you can try on. My shop lets people try goggles on before buying.

properly for opposition swimming the swim cap makes you have much less drag in in the water so which you will swim speedier. additionally ladies with long hair do no longer prefer hair in there eyes consistently on an analogous time as swimming. I had hair that became long adequate to be in my eyes so i mandatory to placed on a swim cap at competitions yet now I purely swim for workout and don't prefer a swim cap.

Bubble crepe swim cap in size large. there the largest caps you will find and easy to slip on. Silicon caps are smaller and pop off larger heads.

There is this kid on my swim team who was having a similar problem to yours. One day someone brought in a nylon cap and that really worked well for him. They cost a little bit more then regular caps, but it sounds like it worth it! I hope that swimming goes well for you!

SILICONE ALL THE WAY!!!! trust me from experience i have rele long, thick hair too...and they dont rip as easy

also, you might want to try lycra caps...i'm not sure if it will hold all of your hair though....they are like the bathing suit material so they just keep your hair out of the way

and you goggles might be too tight also if you get headaches.....try bungee straps they're the best

One of my swimmers has the biggest head in the WORLD (I kid you not!) and she has no problem wearing a regualr Speedo latex cap for extended periods of time. Your headaches come from not being used to wearing a cap, not from the cap itself. Any latex or silicon cap should work fine. You could also try a lyrca cap, those are a bit more forgiving in their stretch.

Good luck!
