Wait another week. If your period hasn't shown up, take another test. Even if that test is negative, you should make an appointment to see a doctor. There are reasons for a delayed or missed period that have nothing to do with pregnancy. You may have an issue that needs to be addressed medically.
Good luck!

My period was a week late yesterday. I took a test (Clearblue Digital) and my result was positive. My symptoms were sore breasts, frequent urination, and some morning sickness. If you have any symptoms of pregnancy you possibly still could be. You may not have enough hCG to be detected by a test yet. Try again in about 3 days since the hormone doubles every day if you are pregnant. Hope this helps!!

Short answer is yes. Hcg hormone starts to show up in the blood when the fertilised egg implants, about 8-10 days after fertilisation but it doesnt show up in urine in high enough levels to test for straight away. Thats why a doctors blood test can tell much sooner. If you bought a cheap preg. test then you might be waiting 2 or 3 weeks for it to become positive. We spent loads on tests, 4 weeks after our IVF cycle we got a positive blood test. but cos we were in shock & awe at this wonderful outcome, we decided to waste money on urine tests to prove it. They all said negative for a further 3 weeks. Some of the more expensive tests like Clearblue etc will give results slightly earlier than the cheap ones.

Not sure. THe best thing to do is to go to your doctors to confirm by way of a blood test. This is more accurate than a urine test. The urine test can be diluted if you drink too much water in one given time. BUT, if you really dont have time to go to the doctors, or would rather take the urine test again, do so first thing in the morning. The HGChormone produced only during pregnancy doubles itself every 48 hours, so it may show as a positive in 2 days after your first test. Otherwise, I wouldnt worry about it.

Have you engaged in sexual activity with no protection or minimal protection? If yes then you could be pregnant. Usually test will pick it up as early as 5 days before your missed period. It all depends on your HCG level. Do the test first thing in the morning when your HCG level will be the highest. Stress can cause you to miss or start your period late. If you are very concerned then you should visit your MD or local health unit. Also avoid any risky behavior until you know for sure.

Do another test. I believe that a pregnancy test can be negative in the early stages however you may not be pregnant, there are many reasons for late periods. If the next test is also negative consult your G.P. and if you turn out not to be pregnant take this as a sign that you should be more careful with birth-control.

Pregnancy tests aren't always accurate, however to be sure that you got an accurate result, you should wait until your period is about a week or two late, and then test again. There is a possibility that when you tested, your hcg level wasn't high enough for the test to detect it. Good luck, and best wishes!!!

Home Tests test the levels of HCG in your urine. This builds the further along you are. You could be pregnant and your HCG levels were not high enough to detect but a week late could be anything so I would wait another week or so and test again with first morning urine (HCG is more concentrated) if your period has not arrived. Good luck!

Well yes there's still a chance that you're pregnant.
I would go and see your doctor. He/she will be able to do a more sensitive test and talk things through with you.
There's other factors though that could be effecting your cycle; putting on/losing weight, stress, infection or being ill and changes in your sex life.
For the time being treat your body as though you are pregnant, watch alcohol and cigarettes, watch your diet and make sure you are getting a selection of vitamins (folic acid, vitamin C etc).
Good luck.
