The Mosaics of Paphos

APHRODITE'S WATERPARK.

GLASS BOTTOM BOAT.

The Aphrodite's birthplace

SAMPLE THE LOCAL BREW.

The weather is the most important thing you need for a nice holiday. So have a look at this page and you know before you going what kind of weather you have. http://www.weeronline.nl/Cyprus/Paphos.htm

As usual, the taxis in a tourist area are there to make as much cash as possible from the punters. If you do not know how much it is, they will work you for an extra poind or two. The best deal around Paphos is the local bus. Most are airconditioned, and the fare is only 50P. Most of the drivers are helpful, though one or two are a bit crochety. They do not run on a schedule, but eventually one will show up. there are only a limited amount of routes, so it is not hard to get around. Paphos to Coral bay is the 10 or 15 bus, but cab it is a minimum 8 pounds, though some will try to charge 10 - 12 pounds. The cash adds up quickly. The cheapest taxis in Coral Bay is the Coral Beach taxi company. They were consistenly 2 pounds less expensive than all the others, though somtimes you had to help with directions.

I think you will find it beautifully warm in June. We went in March and wore t-shirts all the time and the orange groves were beautiful. The people in Paphos were so friendly and we loved the food. Take advantage of all the cultural activities - not normally my scene but in this case, I learned a great deal. Do go on a trip to the Trudos mountains - wonderful views. Didn't swim in the sea as it was too early but we swam in our hotel pool - a memorable holiday and would certainly return. Have a wonderful time - Netty Local wine was very cheap - don't know about cigarettes but not an expensive holiday and the market is very cheap.

Take a look at www.tripadvisor.com - a really useful resource site. You can search your hotel for candid reviews of people that have stayed there so might pick up some tips... Enjoy!
