I'm also intersted in answers to this questions. I'm doing Atkins now and have found that most every restaurant has some sort of option for low carbers, although you may have to search and find modifications for it. An exception would by KFC because I don't think they have anything that can go low carb.

McDonalds: Any of the Salads and you can get a quarter pounder without the bun and with a side salad rather than fried and its quite good. I would hesitate before eating McD's chicken items because they use a sugar marinade on the grilled chicken.

Subway: Just get any of the sandwiches made into a salad.

Wendy's: They have plenty of cheap burgers you can get without the bun and their salads aren't bad. If you can have a few more carbs, the chili is also good.

Taco Bell: Get a Taco Salad without the shell or beans. There is some sugar in the meat, but not too much. You can also get a taco without tomatos and have them put it into a bowl. I esspecially love the steak tacos in a bowl.

Jack in the Box: Hmmm, Goota love it. You can get any of the sandwiches without a bun and simply eat it with a fork and they're finally doing the side salad vs. fries switcheroo.

Sonic: Diet Cherry Limade doesn't have many carbs and it tastes good. You can also get the cheese coney or snadwiches without the bun. They've also got pretty good salads, just get them without the onion ring.

Arbys: Good Salads, get the sandwiches sans bun.

Chipotle: You can get the burrito in a bowl and pick your toppings and its really good.

Anyway, this is good for fast food. Just remember for sitdown restaurants to always order something low carb as the veggie. Steamed broccoli is very popular. At Mexican restaurants, order the entree without rice and beans, its usually enough anyway and don't forget to send the chips back.
At Italian restaurants I would get chicken and sides. One time I did get a pasta dish without the past and it was divine (lots of veggies in a creamy sauce" but a little liquid.

Again remember to send the starches back, the bread or chips. Better yet, you can go to a restaurant that doesn't have an overflowing breadbasket.

Good Luck!!!

Almost anywhere you go now has low carb options on the menu. I was at Chili's the other day and had a guiltless chicken sandwich and it came with black beans and steamed broccoli and it was REALLY good. I know that Applebee's has some really good low carb stuff. Even low carb cheesecake for dessert! I am diabetic so I look for that kind of stuff wherever I go. Salads are always a good choice. As long as you have something that doesn't have a lot of bread or pasta you'll be fine.

Denny's, IHOP, Fridays, Ruby Tuesday's.. and the Cheesecake Factory also has low carb cheesecake and a number of things on the menu that you can slightly alter to make low carb. Most places will let you get a burger without the bun, or a steak with vegetables. Just pick what you want, they'll make it for you.
