It is not the biggest problem in our marriage. And I pair the socks so I have to right them to pair them. Isn't it so easy to take them off right and know you are being helpful to your spouse? I put them in the drawer right side out, why can't I get them back that way?

I went through the same thing. I finally washed them the way I got them, inside out or balled up. Putting the clothes away I left them as-is. After a while she got the idea and the socks started coming right side out.

My husband used to drink out of a cup.. and leave it on the side of the counter not two feet away from the sink.. I asked him repeatedly to just walk those extra two feet and put the cup in the damn sink , not rinse it out just place it there and I'll take care of it. Never did.. One day I took all the cups and glasses out of the cabinets.. replaced them with a few paper cups.. and placed a trash can exactly where he used to leave his cups on the counter ..when he looked at me with a surprised look asking where are all the cups ? I simply said.. you chose to leave your trash there now I made it easier for you... since that day he will not only put the glass in the sink .. he would rinse it out too :) My point is.. make the socks disappear lol...

I love your question. I feel the same way. I don't want to touch his dirty socks any longer than I have too. I told my husband if they go in the hamper in a ball then they go in the washing machine & dryer in a ball and don't come crying to me when you don't have any clean socks to wear. Next time tell him this and maybe he will help out. It only took about 3 times of doing this and he now honors my request. Good luck!

I started washing the clothes the same way they were put in the laundry, inside out, balled up whatever; guess what? He does all the laundry now......with no complaints (except if I leave my socks inside out)

Let it go - you have to realize that he isn't purposely doing that to make you mad - he just isn't as attentive to detail as you are. You are taking it personally, don't start with that thinking - if he really loved me, appreciated me, respected me, etc - he would turn his socks the right way. Men don't think like women do - he's just not able to remember to do this detail, is it really that big of a deal??

My wife has done it since the day I met her. She WILL NOT change. It doesn't matter.
Chose your battles. Some people's habits cannot be fixed.
I presume YOU have a couple of annoying habits that he either just puts up with and/or you refuse to change. We all have them.

My wife heard that tops get cleaner if they are inside out and it drives me crazy, since that is only necessary for something that is really dirty on the inside. My wife never gets that dirty.
I have asked her repeatedly to not leave her tops inside out because it is such a pain to fix them. She has totally ignored this request for the four years we have been married.
Sometimes I get so annoyed that I wash my clothes and not hers, but usually I just put her tops away inside out. She does not mind that at all. Why, I don't know.

Just wash them that way. They won't dry, and after he has to unroll them and finds them wet, maybe he'll understand the logic of the request. Sometimes they think you're intentionally trying to make life harder for them with no good motivation, and it's a simple way to demonstrate why that isn't true.
