There has to be an easier way to remove those heavy-duty retainer clips that hold the heatsink to the CPUs (socket 370). I've successfully removed a couple, but last night I 'fatally' nicked a CPU with a metal chopstick while the heatsink went airborne across the desk.

if you carefully push down towards the board then out you should be able to ease the clip off the heatsink. i newer board and processor you will find a re a little easier to remove. i use a small flat head screw driver to assist
