Hi!
Having something you see as being lucky always helps, hehe :-) Maybe don't look at throwing away the old shirt as bad luck - but rather, look at it like you were throwing away the chance that you only get jobs *through* luck! This way, you'll know that when you get a job, it's because of you!
There could be many reasons why you don't pass the interview stage - mostly, are you applying for a job which you don't have the exact skills or experience for yet? (What job are you applying for, btw?)
If you feel that you do have the relevant skills and experience, do you pay attention to your interview techniques? Do you smile warmly (not awkwardly!) at everybody when you enter and leave the interview room? Do you make sure you wear something appropriate (i.e. no low cut tops or mini skirts)?
Just keep at it - you will find something eventually! I always think that if you're not right for a job, the job's not right for you. Don't worry too much about the interviews you don't pass, as it could very well mean that you would not enjoy that job anway. I've posted a couple of links to help you with your interview techniques.
Good luck finding a new job!
xx Emmie

The shirt is not that stupid really. If it gives you the confidence you need then by all means wear it. I think the most important thing in a interview is to be yourself. Be comfortable, be honest and be prepared. Know about the company, practice a little and have a list of questions that are important for you ready to ask them. Remember, they are not only interviewing you, you are interviewing them. Make sure you would be a good fit together. I understand if you really need a job, but be patient. The right one will come. Be confident. An interview is your time to brag about yourself and let yourself shine. Don't let someone take you down. Good luck! Oh yeah, make sure you smile. Don't be shy. A smile goes a long way and can calm your interviewer as well.

It has a lot to do with what confidence and attitude you are broadcasting.
Rather overdress than under-dress. Dress rather conservative than not.
Ask questions !!! he who asks, leads. Asking questions shows you are prepared, interested, smart and gives you control. Personally, -no joke- I have 7 pages with 500 questions, so I can stand every interview.
Google about the company and find out about them, and then make a check list with questions. It's absolutely okay to say "I made myself a check list, can I ask you some questions and may I take notes or is anything confidential?"
This shows that you got guts, brain and manners. That's what employers like.
Don't be nervous, keep still, move little. People who move a lot are usually nervous, and you don't want to appear nervous, you want to look like a person with a level head and who keeps control - ALL the time, even if there is panic around you.
Be polite!
Make them talk 2/3 and try to speak 1/3.
Keep eye contact.
The CV is for the employer to screen you and once you have been invited for an interview, they know you are qualified. Now it's about the chemistry and your personality.
Good luck or your next one!

Try and remember all of your customer service experience that you have done a good job at. Because they will ask questions like Tell me a story about when you went above and beyond what is expected of you. And how you dealt with a angry or difficult customer. Dress sharp and be confidant. And make sure you have a good reason why you want to work for them, because they will ask.

Job interviews have always come natural to me. Confidence is a big part. You don't want to be too confident and sound cocky, thats bad. Just sit up straight, and ask questions, but again not too many questions. I dont believe in luck, but if you think it will help you, go for it. "Good luck".

Smile be yourself and dont feel desperate sitting there. And whatever you do don't let them make you feel its all about what you can do for there company. Make sure you find out what they can do for you! Ask the person interviewing you what they like about there job and just let them talk!

Don't use you hands when you talk. Do not try to be funny. Stick to the facts. Look them in the eye.
