The ink has sat for about a month. I've never washed the coat and because it is washable dry cleaners won't touch it. It is a light tan color.

Munya's got your answer!

Go get some cheap hairspray...Final Net, Aqua Net--the cheaper the hairspray, the better. Spray a tiny bit on the pen mark, rub it GENTLY (you dont want to remove the sueding!)with a clean cloth. Repeat until all gone, then carefully wash the spot with a cold water and a mild soap.
Brush it as it dries to bring the nap back.

You obviously can't wear it like it is. Take a can of cheap hairspray, the aerosol kind and spray it directly on the spot. Next, take an old toothbrush and scrub the spot with that. Then take a paper towel and dab the spot. Since it has set so long I'm not sure if you'll have to repeat the procedure, but do it until it is gone. This should remove the ink. After you've gotten it out, wash the coat following the directions. I wouldn't put in the dryer, however......hang it up to dry.

OUCH! Is it rather suede or pretend? Big change.. truly suede you must purchase suede cleanser (offered anyplace that promote leather-based and kmart areas commonly deliver it)and it'll be difficult to get it out. What variety of pen was once it? Sometime if you happen to name the organization they maybe capable to let you know wish brakes down the ink. But with truly suede- it'll be difficult.
