I am currently working for a sm. company with only 50 employess. The company is only 7 yrs.old. One of first employees hired and been with company for 4 years.
Pros: Small company, great co workers, very laid back atmosphere, routine work assignment each day. As long as my work is done, no boss over shoulder. Recieves a $1500 christmas bonus, and monthly incentatives approx. $150, but not guaranteed.
Cons: Under paid. Pay $11 a hour, compared to market value of pay in zip code, should be approx. $14-$17 hourly. Started with company when they were just starting out, and I took low pay because of it being a new company. Was told that as company progressed, pay would meet current market. 4 years later and still under... discussed with owner, states no problem with my work, but company can't raise pay, only 3% pay raise each year.
I am financially comfortable and don't have to have a higher paying job. But...I feel with my work history and experience that I should be paid better.

This is one of those "how bad is it really?" questions. There are a few other factors to consider besides the ones you mention:

-your age - if you're just starting out, it may be more important to climb the career/$$ ladder than if you want to retire in a few years.
-commute - many times companies located in metro areas pay more than companies in outlying suburbs
-job satisfaction - sounds like you have a great work environment and feel good about the experience you're getting there. The grass may not always be greener...that higher pay at a new company may come with a boss who is very demanding, longer hours, annoying co-workers, or a host of other problems. It's not always just about the money.

Bottom line, if you're really dissatisfied, feel you're losing skills or not developing new ones, hate the boss or work environment, and/or find it difficult to go in in the mornings, then I'd recommend you leve. If you're basically happy except for the $$, I'd recommend that you stay.

You are obviously unsatisfied with some aspects of your job. Put together an updated resume and shop it around to a few head hunters to see if you can find the same quality of work (bonus, atmosphere etc) at the pay level you feel you should be. Also check out this website http://www.payscale.com it takes into account other factors besides experience and duites to calculate your pay.
