there are always situations that will remind you of a personal fear or experience that you dont want to repeat in your own mind. as a support worker you should leave you personal thoughts and beliefs behind while you are with the individual then pick them up again after you leave work. you are only human yes, but support workers need to be professional and not let thier personal thoughts get in the way of thier work. if there is a situation you are aware that you are not going to be able to cope with, perhaps refer to another member of your organisation. your personal beliefs can make you bitter or see the client for what theyve done and not as a person x

I think I understand what you are saying? Not sure though?
Here goes nothing...
People that are actually able to pull that off, have always amazed and attracted me...
That is the kind of person I actually admire above all others, envy and aspire toward becoming. Especially if they can do it... and yet manage to come across as convincing.
Doing this from a place of deliberate intelligence and then again from a place of phony assed bullshit intent are two very different kinds of people.
I hate the bullshitter's...The kinds who don't really care enough to even try and hide the fact that they are being patronizing and cold... Like Used car salesmen... Who gather and exploit rather than collect and compute.
The few who understand the process, the reason, and the rational behind the necessity of the situation that can just turn it on and off like a light switch and not seem crazy or effected...Those are the ones I admire...
I love Mr. Spock kinds of people... They rock my socks!

Not sure i quiet understand your question but let me try!
Your personal beliefs and experiences can affect your work as support worker, because in order to work you might put in place your opinions and may also talk from personal experiences depending on the matter.
Your suggestions might be what you believe is necessary. Therefore, it is your opinion.

My beliefs shall not conflict with my experience, unless my beliefs are enhanced by the experience. So, if my beliefs are strong and my experience to be some what a guide line towards my function, that will send a message towards others in the direction I am creating. I FEEL and DO in Harmony. A positive aura will take me from where I am to where I want to be.

Surely if you support anyone or group of people you must put your own beliefs/experiences aside and be as neutral as possible
