The Engine idles low and shakes slightly. It also shakes and has power loss on acceleration. I can also feel a slight sputter while driving the car. I have tried 3 tanks of gas with injector cleaner so far. What else should I look at?

i have the exact same problem with my car, your problem is that your idling speed is set too low you can adjust it by adjusting your distributor cap left and right which will set the idle speed low and high, you want to make it high idle, also if your car isnt getting enough gas or is getting too much you adjust that by adjusting two screws on your carberator, if you ever need help again feel free to contact me.

My cousin has a plymouth breeze which is mechanically identical to the Cirrus. He was having similiar problems with his car that you are describing. He changed his spark plugs which is really cheap to do and started using higher grade gas 89 octane. I am very confident in that doing this it should resolve your problem. If not, take it to a mechanic that you trust and tell him to take a look at it. It might be the motor mounts.

First to interchange them the transmission might desire to be removed from the vehicle.then you definately prefer a solid clean artwork section with a minimum of a solid artwork bench yet a transmission cradle is extra effective.then you definately eliminate the torque converter and the transmission pan to empty the fluid.on the front of the transmission the place you bumped off the torque converter there are bolts those are for the front pump and could be bumped off.Now the front pump might desire to be bumped off and a few require using a puller. Now you're transforming into nearer to the bands and you will possibly desire to eliminate them and the take carry of packs. What you prefer is to completely rebuild the transmission if the bands are wiped out so are the clutches.that could be a job for a expert rebuilder.in case you will possibly prefer to attempt to rebuild a transmission attempt an older one like a Chevy rapid 350 or 4 hundred or a chrysler 904 or 727 or a ford c4 or c6 they are all fairly straightforward to do and are extra forgiving might desire to you're making a mistake.back sorry i won't be able to assist you to extra yet you prefer a expert for this concern.you should attempt to interchange the transmission your self with the two a used yet solid one or with a rebuilt one your manuel might desire to cover that.

first check all the vacuum tubes at the inlet manifold make sure no loss/hanging hoses or breaks.. this can cause low iddle (unstable).. the the airbox to the throttle body..make sure no air leaks.. this can stirr air flow sensor signal to the ecu and cause low-idle too.. if all goes fine.. simply turn the idle valve screw (at the throttle body) to taste..
