Don't take too hot showers and don't use soap on your nipples. Both of these can dry them out. Hormones can do it too. Get some breastfeeding cream like Lansinoh. It is specifically designed for this! Put it on in the morning, at night, and before you shower.

does the nipple feel crusty? are you having any discharge fluid or blood from breast without squuezing it? Any lumpiness or irregular soreness in one breast when you are not mensturating?
I think you should go to the doctors to get checked it won't take long, I believe you have nothing to be concerned about, those things i mentioned are symptoms you need to check with your doctor if you ever notice them. Go and get it checked i'm sure antiseptic with moisturiser cream will help but it's best to be sure. All the best you'll be o.k.

I used to have that same problem. My doctor told me that I need to use a Vitiamn E or a Dryness Lotion. Use it after showers, and when you wake up.

I would be willing to help by liberally apply moisturizing cream to the dry area and rubbing it in thoroughly
