I've read just about all of Pattersons books, any other Authors similar to him?

I have read all of James Patterson books and I have to agree with some of the others and suggest Patricia Cornwell (she is one of my favorites)(make sure you start her Kay Scarpetta books at the beginning so you can see the characters develop) and Nelson DeMille is really good too. I'm reading Wildfire by him right now. Some of his books do have the same characters but not all of them. I would recommend Charm School. I like Sue Grafton (I've read all her books) but she is not nearly the caliber of James Paterson. Lisa Gardner is pretty good. Start at the beginning with her as well.

Yes, I have. All six of them, and I think they're really good. Similar books? Have you read any books from Tami Hoag? Her books are lovely. If you haven't read any of them, you might want to start with Night Sins or Cry Wolf. Otherwise you might like the writer Alex Barclay. I've only read one book from her (The Caller), which is written in quite the same style as James Patterson. Cheers!

Wow - Patterson is a tough one to match or top, for sure. You might try Nelson DeMille - I highly recommend The Lion's Game. I also just finished a real page-turner in Terror in America – You Are Not Safe!, but it does not have the character development of Patterson or DeMille, it's more tactical and scene strong. It's available at the link below.

When I was searching for something similar, one bookstore clerk suggested Jeffrey Deaver (a movie was made out of one of his books, it had Angelina Jolie (I think) and Denzel Washington...I think it was the 'Bone Collector'). I also like John Sanford as far as detective stories go. In general, I also like Jonathan Kellerman, Dean Koontz, Tess Gerritsen, Robin Cook, etc.

I also love Patricia Cornwall, Iris Johanson, and Sue Grafton. If you like something spooky once in a while, try Dean Koontz. Good luck and happy reading
