Outlaw Josey Wales is better than Unforgiven, if for no other reason than the spitting on the dog. Magnificent 7 is still my favorite cowboy movie overall though. (The Good, The Bad & The Ugly is up there too.)

The Outlaw Josey Wales. During its time Clint was pretty much out of the western and everybody wanted Dirty Harry. He brought this movie in with some doubters and made it a winner. Although, the unfortunate part is that he also began the start of many movies with Sondra Locke. I know he was dating her, but man she can't act.

Between those two, I'll pick Outlaw Josey Wales. But what about Lonesome Dove...

"Unforgiven" is the better cowboy movie, imo. "The Unforgiven" was a good Burt Lancaster movie.
