My son has had the stomach flu literally for a week. I finally caught it from him yesterday. After dropping my husband off at the train (who went through the flu already and is ready for work again) I came back and forced myself to feed my son. I plopped onto the couch and waited for him to finish eating, with the intention of putting us both down for a nap right afterwards. I worked hard (and gently) to make sure it could happen, and the moment I was putting my son in his crib a man outside started leafblowing the leaves outside. Did I mention IT'S RAINING? I called our leasing office and they said the people are getting them ready for the "new season".... and I asked her if she was aware that it was RAINING.... she said yes, I asked if there was any way to stop the noise... she said "No, not really." I hung up on her.

In this high-tech world, it amazes me how so many people's brains are permanently set on "pause."
Years ago, when I lived in an apartment complex, there was some work to be done on the sidewalk outside my place. Right outside.
For two mornings in a row, at 7am, they had a jackhammer going on outside my bedroom window for a half an hour! After that, both days, they packed up and left for the day! On the third day, they came in the afternoon and finished off with the quiet stuff.
I feel for you and your situation completely. I hope you and your son get well soon.

I feel your pain, I used to live in an apartment complex and work nights and they'd come right outside my window at about 9am right when I was getting to bed and start cutting grass or electric trimming the bushes and when someone is paid hourly it can take as long as 3 or 4 hours to trim 2 little bushes. Leasing offices are the devil, I really believe it, their fake little cheery voices that pretend like they care when really they do nothing to help!

You seem a bit selfish. Should they world stop functioning because you are sick and your son needs a nap? Get over yourself! Buy insulated drapes or some other sound barriers but don't expect everyone to tiptoe around in the DAYTIME because you're not feeling well.

I think because you were sick it bothered you more. You would of called if you weren't sick? But, I do agree leafblowing in the rain is rather stupid.

You are just frustrated. Take your nap as best you can. Or go out, buy a shotgun, and surprise the leaf blowing fool with a face full of slag.
