i havent heard anything about him dying matter of a fact im on their mailing list and they sent us a mailer stating they added another tour date...

I love him dearly too, saved my life in fact as well. But here it does state he WAS pronounced dead in the ambulence, but they also said that the band was trying to get us to "stay strong at this dark hour" or something along those lines, the source below will give you a bit more information.
(I am stilling going through my crying my eyes out fit since I just found out. I've been crying now for... it's sbeen 2 hours and 37 minutes so far.)

im pretty sure he's still alive. if he wasnt i think you'd be hearing about it from everywhere.
