I am considering their program as they tell me I passed their writing test and have the aptitude to write. It would be a class on writing articles and short stories and they guarantee that I will have one manuscript suitable to submit for publication by the end of the class. I am looking for input from anyone who has experience with Long Ridge Writers Group. Thank you.

I'm a graduate of The Insititute of Children's Literature, part of Long Ridge.

I published my first magazine article by lesson 6.

This is a reputable school with excellent instructors and material. You are basically tutored. The cost is amazingly low for what you get.

Yes, I am a graduate of Long Ridge Writers Group. It was a very interesting experience. I haven't gotten anything published yet; (my fault, not theirs, I just haven't had time) They tell you up front they can't guarantee you will get published, but they do give you an awesome booklet with thousands of magazines to choose from (this is included in the cost along with the rest of your materials and your tutor. I took this in 2009, graduated in 2010. (You can go at your own pace...within reason, there are deadlines on the assignment but they are reasonable deadlines.) It cost the money of one paycheck....so considering what you get, I don't think it was that expensive. Mary Lacey

A friend of mine finished it and she was happy with it. I haven't talked to her since she said that she was glad she did it, but her experience was positive.
