Are any of you worried that some idiot is going to 'take out' Ronaldo because they're jealous?
James Morrison tried on Monday but he's far too puny, George Boatang has been saying somebody will do it because Ronnie takes the mick out of other players.
Belgium's keeper has said they will try when they play Portugal.
Why can't they as professionals have a little pride and try and beat him by winning the match......

Barry - the majority of modern footballers go down too easy given the chance, this is hardly the same as breaking an opponents leg

If ronaldo bends the rules to win matches then why should the opposition not do the same.

Football is a team game but it's still about winning your 'personal battle' with the player you are facing. If you are a striker then you try and test the keeper early.
If you are a keeper then you want to make a good save to show the strikers you are going to be difficult to beat.
If you are a defender then you want to give the striker a hard kick early in the game to let him know that he is going to get more of the same.
Its all about mental games, if you are not good enough to beat them with skills then you have to try and beat them in ther mind.

I,m amazed how many of these answers can accept the cheat but not the people who want to straighten the cheat out, no wonder the game is in the shite state it,s in.
Oh! for the day,s of Tommy Smith,Billy Bremner, Dave Mackay, These guys and a number of others of their day would have sorted the cheats of today. as for why players can,t have a little pride and beat him by winning the game, why can,t the fcucking cheat have a little pride instead of cheating everytime he plays, he belongs with the fannies in spain and portugal.
I don,t speak as an ex football fan by the way I am still a season ticket fan

How can you even begin to talk about professionalism after what he did in the world cup? Is it professional to get somebody sent off for no reason and then wink to your teamates.
If he was a professional, he would not cheat by obtaining an advantage when he dives and falls down, more than any other player in the world!

I am a fan of football, not Manchester United.
Your interpretation of the threats and thoughts of others concerning the poleaxing of another player is right and those who said it are beneath contempt.
Football has ceased to be a sport and is now a business and the 'professionalism' has taken the place of fair play.
I hope the referee has read these comments and, as soon as a foul is committed by any one of these clowns who made the comment, they should be sent off for a premeditated attack and the Football Association would be justified in taking penal action against them.

what would their response be if he played in their team, no doubt he would be the best bar none, sadly the flair players are not protected by refs, a few red cards would soon put a stop to it. if players knew refs would come down hard on them they would soon think twice about taking a player out of the game. so stand up refs & be counted.

not a man utd fan but ronaldo is the type of player we all want to watch.....his skill is unquestionable but his cheating and diving upset a lot of fans who would prefer to see him use his skill.
he is not alone in this, cheating is a major part of the game now.
'taking him out' is a very childish attitude, but football is big money now.....almost anything goes.
i would hate to see a player being badly injured on purpose

Jealousy is a funny thing, to say things like that isnt professional anyway, and shouldnt be in the game. Not his fault he's gifted.

in the last 10 Min's or so of the boro game i noticed a few crunching tackles on him it as if the boro players agreed to try and cripple him if they was to go out the cup??. i never believed that ronaldo would leave due to the boo boys? but if other pro's are out to cripple him it would be in his best interest to go to a country where people would appreciate his skills??
