Here is an Unusual but AWESOME plant (IF you're talking potted plant here) that has the coolest bloom . . . find a Passiflora or "Passion Flower" vine plant and watch it grow . . . it will catch attention, and has a very nice and unusual bloom.

It really is a personal preference, but with me I love Sun Flower, or Dandelion. Dandelion is not really a flower, its a weeds, but it is very bright beautiful looking with hardly any maintenance needed. Its a very strong flower. How about Bamboo ? It has a nice Green and this one I got in my living room, Kitchen, and Bathrooms, I hardly do anything with it except water every once a while, it keeps on growing and looking beautiful.

African violets are super low maintenance, all you have to do is put them in a violet pot( they sell them at wal mart for $4) and wait for them to bloom.

Petunias, get the wave kind, just keep them watered well.

Lilies, they come in all shapes and colors, put them in dirt and water. Or try moss roses, they are small, extremely colorful, and hardy.
